How To Style Accessory Statement Pieces

Happy New Year to my stylish fashionistas out there! I hope that your new year is off to a great start. What better way to start it off by talking about accessory statement pieces. Accessory statement pieces are the best type of pieces to have in your wardrobe. Whether it’s sunglasses, jewelry, bags or shoes, a statement piece can elevate any outfit taking it to the next level.

When it comes to searching for accessory statement pieces, I tend to love anything that stands out to me. Something that has beautiful details or a fun design. The perfect example is this clutch I got from Zara in NYC. When I first saw this clutch, I had to have it. The pattern is gorgeous with the right amount of color. I honestly believe this clutch was a rare find because it was the only one in the store and when I searched online, it didn’t seem to exist. It was very affordable, only $35, which was steal for the multicolored style and price point.

Street Styling & Accessory Statement Pieces

How I styled my clutch statement piece for this street style look is with my super warm black tie belt coat from H&M along with a hidden knit dress from Zara and these stylish ankle boots I’ve had for years. I even added the white cat-eye sunglasses from & Other Stories which I adore so much. When shopping for accessory statement pieces, search for pieces that stand out to you the most. Something that is fun, unique and fashionable at the same time.

I highly recommend styling accessory statement pieces in the most minimalist way possible. Meaning don’t overdo it when it comes to dressing up. All you need is a few statement pieces like sunglasses or a great bag to elevate your style. I call my outfit the backdrop so make sure your backdrop outfit doesn’t have too much going on in order for your statement pieces to stand out.

So just to highlight some key points, when styling accessory statement pieces, make sure to find something that stands out to you and your style aesthetic. Also, style accessory statement pieces in the most minimalist meaning your backdrop outfit should not be busy. Only your accessories should stand out because you’re trying to make that bold statement highlighting those pieces.
