When it comes to summer, I love heading down to the Jersey Shore. Atlantic City holds many memories from when I was child as I came down here a lot with my family. I always get flashbacks when I hear the seagulls to the smell of the Atlantic Ocean. There is about Atlantic City that keeps me coming back every summer. From the boardwalk to the beach, you surely would never get bored. It is about an hour and 15-minute drive from where I currently live in Philadelphia, and it is known for its beautiful resorts, beaches, casinos, and shopping on the boardwalk.
Speaking of the boardwalk, here is a fun fact. Did you know the Atlantic City boardwalk is approximately 5 miles and the longest in the world? If anything, it is a great excuse to brag about in person so why not spend your next getaway vacation in Atlantic City this summer. If you are planning to visit Atlantic City, here are some places to check out this summer. I highly recommend saving this post for your next travel adventure. Let us get into it!
When you come to Atlantic City, make it a priority to visit the beach. Not only is the view absolutely beautiful and breathtaking to take in, but you will find yourself at peace. There’s something about the ocean that is calming and soothing to hear the waves of water. I am a city girl and have always been, but sometimes I need a little break from city life. I call this my happy place because I’m able to clear my mind and relax while enjoying the surrounding atmosphere.
The boardwalk is the place to be when visiting Atlantic City. The boardwalk is the longest in the world with it being 5 miles. So many sights to see along the boardwalk from the cute little souvenir shops to quick food bites. I personally enjoy just walking up and down the boardwalk to see the views and to shop along the way. One of my favorite attractions to check out along the boardwalk is Steele Pier Amusement Park where you will find tons of games and the popular Ferris Wheel. The Ferris Wheel is my favorite because I get to see the most spectacular views of the Atlantic City skyline and the New Jersey Coastline.
This was my first time at the Landshark Bar & Grill and I must say it was a great experience. What attracted me to this restaurant was the location, which is on the beach. It is a beach bar with outdoor seating. I opted for the outdoor seating where I can view the beautiful beach scenery while enjoying my meal. I wind up starting with the spinach & artichoke dip appetizer which consisted of a creamy dip parmesan cheese served with crispy tortilla chips. For the main course, I wind up getting a Caribbean chicken salad which tasted amazing and consisted of chopped greens, diced cucumbers, tomatoes, along with candied pecans, grilled chicken and topped with a mango ranch dressing.
The prices are not that bad either but let me give you a quick tip if you do decide to visit The Landshark. Before you go, head to their website here and on the very front, you will see something that says FREE APPETIZER on your next visit. Click join now to join their dining rewards program and once you provide your email address, you will get a coupon for a free appetizer on your visit. I saved me money because I did not have to pay for the appetizer but only for my main course and dessert. Speaking of dessert, I ended with a bang by trying out their signature key lime pie made from scratch, and it was delicious.
I fell in love with the vintage Havana-themed decor in this shopping mall located in the Tropicana Casino & Resort. Home to more than 25 unique restaurants, shops, and boutiques, you are sure to find something that stands out including countless array of souvenirs and exclusive fashion. One of the most beautiful shopping destinations I have ever visited. I spent hours here just browsing and shopping while admiring the decor. Overall, this place is a must-see in person when coming to Atlantic City.
The Hard Rock Giant Guitar is a popular tourist attraction. I mean how can you miss this gigantic guitar in the center of Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. It is known to be one of the top vacation spots in Atlantic City and the largest casino in the world. I am not a gambler, but if you are, this place would be your paradise. Hard Rock also includes so many restaurants, night clubs, and live entertainment to wow the crowd.
If you have a sweet tooth, why not check out IT’SUGAR! where you will find so much candy to choose from. This gigantic candy gift shop is more than a candy store, but an experience. You will find innovative sweets to fun novelty gifts. Some candy I found here took me back to my childhood such as the pop rocks, sweeTARTS, and the smarties. Every time I visit here, I always make it a habit to grab a box of saltwater taffy. Overall, this candy shop is one place you will want to check out and its family friendly.
Atlantic City has many eye-catching attractions to check out when visiting. As I mentioned in the beginning, I have been coming here since I was a child, and I am still coming here now as an adult. I never get tired of visiting AC. A few more places to check out in Atlantic City that I have not mentioned are the Absecon Lighthouse, Tanger Outlets, and the Atlantic City Aquarium.
